Bullets Cannot Divide Orlando

Bullets Cannot Divide Orlando

“We will not live in fear of each other”

On Tuesday three Orlando residents — a harpist, a photographer, and a magician — came together to make a one-minute film about our city’s response to the horrific attacks last weekend.

The film is an act of creation in the face of destruction; a celebration of the extraordinary ways this community has come together over the past few days.

We’ve since seen this community come together in extraordinary ways: strangers praying together on sidewalks, lines stretching a mile to give blood, and just a deeper sense of common purpose and kindness. When headed into the Vigil held at Dr. Phillips Center; there was a family parked next to the sidewalk distributing water to attendees at the vigil on this blazing Florida Summer day.

This sense of community and kindness stood in stark contrast to the horrific violence that came to Orlando the day before. We all respond in our own way; as artists we found ourselves moved to share what we were seeing on the ground the only way we know how: by making something.

I hope you enjoy the video. But, more importantly, I hope you consider donating to support the victims of the shooting and their families.

Big thank you to Harpist Deanna Carolina with Deanna Carolina Music for her beautiful performance; to Revelo Studios for filming; to Chris Baranyi Sound for Music Recording and Richard Yates with TBA Record Studio for mixing and mastering the music recording.

Orlando, we are coming back strong!
